Have you ever been told to “follow your passion?” It’s pretty common advice but, unfortunately, not great advice. New research from Harvard clarifies that, instead, you should “follow your purpose.” A great way to clarify your purpose is to create a personal mission statement. Like an organizational mission statement, a personal mission statement serves to keep you pointed in the right direction, a direction of your choosing.
