The Training and Education Center is undertaking a complete reboot of our classes! Though the leadership of our new Training & Organizational Development Manager, Dominique B. Burton, we are revamping our curriculums and more.
Our Developing the Leader in You (DLP) series is a perfect example of our collective efforts to expand curriculums by infusing workplace trends, competency-based learning, and improved adult learning techniques. DLP was the first series updated and the changes were a hit with our attendees with an overall session rating of 4.4 on a 5-point scale. One of the most telling comments from a participant was:
I patiently await each course and feel that the topics covered have been much more informative than my initial expectations. . . [each session] is completely within the scope of what needs to be discussed [with aspiring leaders.]
A large portion of the class discussions centered around individual development, self-reflection, branding, and servant-leadership. Who better to serve as the graduation guest speaker than Board President, Richard Valle – who shared an encouraging message about his own journey into leadership and the importance of civic engagement.
