Maria Guzman

Training and System Specialist

Maria’s professional journey began at Alameda County in 2011, where she worked until venturing out in 2018 to expand her expertise across industries, languages, and skill levels. She designed bilingual digital skills training for underserved communities in San Jose, updated creative principles training for elder care facilities staff on both coasts, designed interactive training for sales leaders at SiriusXM and T-Mobile, and served as Chair of the Arts Department at College of Alameda.

Her work is rooted in instructional design and educational technology, and she develops courses that people can relate to both online and in-person. Utilizing her 10+ years of LMS administration and governance, she brings a diverse perspective to the Training and Education Center.

Originally from Kansas and a longtime Bay Area resident, her interests include reading, hiking, film festivals, playing the drums, and sewing, which she enjoys with friends and family as often as possible. She is excited to be back and looks forward to reconnecting with the Alameda County community as a Training and System Specialist.
