Specifically, because more types of employee absences are protected by the recently amended Family Medical Leave Act, more employees are covered. Understanding and managing these laws and leaves is critical. ALCO Procurement Basics

The Basic Procurement course is for Alameda County staff who are new to procurement. Staff will receive an overview of Alameda County procurement policies, procedures and process.
This is a four hour class is designed for staff with limited procurement experience.
Objectives
• Describe ethics in relationship to the responsibilities of County staff
• Describe the roles and responsibilities of the Client Department, Procurement Department, and the Board of Supervisors
• Explain the Procurement Policy & Procedures
• Learn the steps of the procurement process
• Understand SLEB Subcontracting
• Access the available tools and resources used in the procurement process
