Registration and Attendance Policy

Congratulations, by registering for training you are making an important commitment to your professional development. The Training & Education Center is committed to supporting you in your efforts.


Registration

Register for training through SumTotal. We encourage you to register early due to limited seating.

Alameda County Employees:

Once registered for a training, our system will send you an email indicating that your enrollment is “pending approval.” Once your supervisor approves, an email indicating “confirmed registration” and you will be enrolled for training upon your supervisor’s approval and payment agreement of any applicable fees.
Please note that your Department Training Representative is your primary contact for questions and user profile updates. Supervisors may register employees for trainings if the employee does not have access to a computer or is classified as TAP.

Non-Alameda County Employees:

Please contact aclearningcenter@acgov.org directly for registration and/or training questions.  Once registered for a training, our system will send you an email indicating that your enrollment is “confirmed.” You will be enrolled for training and agree to payment of any applicable training fees.
Once registered for a training, AC Learning Center will send you an email indicating that your enrollment is “pending invoice payment” with an invoice attached. You will be enrolled for training and after completion of training, receive an invoice from the Training & Education Center.

Please email aclearningcenter@acgov.org if you do not receive an email confirmation within 24 hours after you register.


Fees

Training payments must be received 30 days after receipt of invoice.

Alameda County Employees:

Non-Alameda County Employees:

Upon your supervisor’s approval, and attendance of training, an email indicating “pending payment” with an invoice attached will be sent to your department’s funding approver for payment via Alameda County inter-department fund transfer. You will be enrolled for training upon your supervisor’s approval and payment of fees.

Once registered for a training, AC Learning Center will send you an email indicating that your enrollment is “pending invoice payment” with an invoice attached. Please attach a printed copy of this invoice with your check or money order made payable to Alameda County Training and Education Center at 125 Twelfth Street, Suite 400, Oakland, CA 94607. You will be enrolled for training once the Training & Education Center receives payment.


Cancellations

If you foresee that you cannot attend a training that you are enrolled in, please go to https://alameda.sumtotal.host to self-cancel or notify aclearningcenter@acgov.org via email to notify a customer service representative. Notice must be provided at least eighteen (18) calendar days prior to the session date to exercise one of the following options:

  • Send a substitute with their supervisor’s approval; or

  • For Fee Sessions – your transcript status will be marked “self-cancelled” and you will receive credit to attend an alternate training within a year of the initial scheduled session.

If cancellation notice is received less than eighteen (18) calendar days prior to the session date, your cancellation is late.


Late Cancellations

No notice or notice received less than eighteen (18) calendar days prior to the session date may only seek to send a substitute with their supervisor’s approval, without a penalty or forfeiture.
The transcripts of persons failing to timely cancel registration will be marked as a “late cancellation” and accessed:

  • For No-Fee Sessions: the applicable “no-show” penalty fee based upon the session length; or

  • For Fee Sessions: forfeit the full cost of the session.


Late Arrivals

Trainings begin and end on time. Please be advised that while parking and traffic conditions may vary, a late arrival may result in non-admittance to the training and forfeiture of any fees.


No-Show

Anyone who does not show up for a training will be marked as a “no-show” on their transcript and will forfeit cost of session or incur a “no-show” penalty fee, per chart below.


Notice

Alameda County Training & Education Center reserves the right to cancel trainings in case of low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, you may choose to have any registration fees either credited for one year or applied to that session’s next offering, subject to your agency or supervisor’s approval.
